SuperShe Island is a private island in Finland opened in 2018 as a special retreat just for women. The founder, Kristina Roth, wanted to create a place where women could relax and connect without the distractions of men. The idea was to build a strong community of inspiring women. To visit the island, you couldn’t just book a trip. You had to be invited by Roth herself. She said she was looking for women with “amazing personalities.”

However, the island quickly became a controversial topic. A week-long stay cost thousands of euros, which meant that only very wealthy women could afford it. This led to accusations that SuperShe Island was an exclusive club for the rich, not a place for all women. The Finnish police then investigated if the policy was a form of illegal discrimination. Roth defended her decision, saying that the presence of men could be a distraction for women. In late 2023, SuperShe Island was sold to a new owner.
